VFW041  New to Travel Menorca for 2010 is this magnificent villa situated in an enviable position within the popular family resort of Cala Galdana. A less than five-minute gentle stroll takes you from the villa to the resort centre and the beautiful sandy beach. As Cala Galdana is a very hilly resort, this is one of only a handful of rental properties enjoying this proximity to the beach. Early booking is recommended.

The villa is approached up a sloping driveway to decorative double wrought iron gates, through which there is ample parking space and a large play area for children featuring a basket ball hoop above the garage space. Three steps then take you to a bruc-covered dining area above the swimming pool and then approx 12 steps lead up to the villa entrance.

The front door leads into a very large, light and airy hallway with, to the left, the kitchen/diner, another very spacious room. Fully equipped with fitted units, oven/hob, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, it also has all the necessary crockery, cutlery and utensils for a self catering holiday.

Beyond the kitchen there is a bedroom equipped with a double Sofabed, and a bathroom. To the left of entrance hall is the comfortable, spacious living room with flat screen TV (local channels only) and DVD, and a corner sofa unit and coffee table.

The impressive hallway has a sweeping staircase to each side of the room with a galleried landing above, giving the villa a marvellous feeling of space and light. To the right of the landing are two twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom and to the left is the impressive master suite with double bed, dressing room, ensuite bathroom and a large terrace enjoying views down to the beach.

On the galleried landing there is also a double sofa bed that may be used if there are more than eight guests - but it must be noted this has no privacy. All the bedrooms have ample clothing storage space, terraces and free-standing fans.

To the front of the villa is the swimming pool and the sunbathing terraces, which are fully equipped with loungers and a BBQ. Under the bruc-shaded area is a dining table and chairs to seat eight. Lovely views down to the sea may be enjoyed from the pool terrace and dining area.

Currently undergoing many improvements before the start of the 2010 season, this villa offers great value for families along with lots of space, unusual for a property in this sought-after location. New photos will be available as soon as possible. Friday changeover.

Resort information

Cala Galdana - also known as Santa Galdana - is called the Queen of Menorca's coves thanks to its spectacular setting. The horseshoe beach of golden sand nestles between tall limestone cliffs and pine trees, which are reflected in the sea. It has recently grown into a busy resort, ideal for a family holiday with enough facilities to keep everyone happy. There are several beach bars, a wide range of watersports, mini golf and a small water slide for the children. The Cala Galdana mini express train is a relaxing way to enjoy the resort; it takes you to some spectacular viewpoints on the cliffside.
