TM011  This attractive house is situated in the hamlet of S'Uestra near to historic Sant Lluis, which boasts a wonderful supermarket and a couple of fine restaurants. The popular beach resorts of Binibeca and Punta Prima are less than five minutes drive away, as is Sant Lluis.

The property has been constructed with great attention to detail, using traditional materials to recreate, with modern comfort, the typical Menorcan country house style.

Set in very spacious gardens, approx 15,000 sq m, it is ideal for two families wishing to share. The lovely 10x5m pool with roman step access is set around terraces for sunbathing and dining. The grounds are full of olive trees and there are many quiet areas to sit and relax in the shade. There is also a BBQ for alfresco dining.

Accommodation comprises, on the ground floor: living/dining rooms with TV/DVD, kitchen with microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms plus one full bathroom and a shower room.

On the first floor there is one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a full bathroom. All bedrooms have ample storage space and fans.

Highly recommended for a relaxing countryside holiday while still being close to amenities.

Resort information

Founded in 1761 by the French, Sant Lluis is an attractive small town of narrow streets. A small bypass runs around its perimeter and the town is pretty, quiet and quaint and well worth a visit. Its famous feature is the gaily painted blue and white windmill - the Moli de Dalt. Still in working order it houses a collection of old agricultural implements and is open to the public. In the main street, Carrer Sant Lluis, the church tower dominates the skyline. Dedicated in 1761 to the memory of Saint Louis (Louis IX), the church forms one side of a small square with a fountain. Opposite stands the tiny town hall and an obelisk erected by by the Comte de Lannion, who was Menorca’s first French Governor. Shops in Sant Lluis are traditional and eating out is varied and good value. Highly recommended is La Rueda, just down from the windmill, which offers some of the best tapas in the island. 1km outside Sant Lluis on the Es Castell road is the wonderful Biniarroca Hotel Rural. Well worth a visit is La Venta, situated near the roundabout turn to Punta Prima
